Your love is better than chocolate

It's like Cadbury is trying to please me... I've always had a love affair with Mini Eggs. Brian was in Petro Canada the other day, and he found....wait for it.... DARK CHOCOLATE mini eggs. Be still my heart.

They taste fabulous. They could single-handedly take down my New Years Resolution (to loose a bit of flab).

This weekend...

I think I might take a break from watching the Sex and the City series (which Brian gave me for Christmas), and try and find a copy of Shut Up & Sing. Can you believe I still haven't seen it? I L.O.V.E. the chicks. Love 'em. But Brian would rather see Rocky (what kind of guy is he????).

It's the Most Wonderful Time of The Year....

. . . . . .Except at Wal Mart.

4 tills open on Sunday! Can you believe it? I know we have a staffing shortage here in Alberta, but seriously. . . That's insane. I almost barfed when I saw the line up.

I am almost done shopping. I have a few more things to pick up. Something for Justin & Georgette. And a few more stocking stuffers for Brian.

I went and saw The Holiday with the Ross family last night. I really dislike Jude Law, he just seems so creepy. And so, the whole time I was watching their storyline, I was bored. I would have liked the movie a lot more if it was just about Kate Winslet & Jack Black. She is so cute. Brian ate like, a metric ton of popcorn. So tonight, we HAVE to go to the gym.

The store is pretty slow. I will have a lot to make up for in the new year. I need to be financially prepared for summer this year. Yikes.

I am kind of sad about missing Christmas morning at Mom & Dads house. I just know it wont be the same. I am not even really looking forward to Christmas becuase of the plans. I know it's unfair to Brian though, so I am trying to be as patient and understanding as possible.

Koho knocked over our tree last week. Scratched our hardwood flooring & a leather chair, broke the tree stand, and worst of all, woke us up at 6am. Grrr.
Now we have a super durable tree stand, I dont think a hurricane could take this tree down.

6 more work days until Christmas.....

Ho Ho Hold On! I'm not ready yet....

Have I mentioned how much I love my husband lately?

I do. He's sexy and sweet. And I just love him so much.

He's been working so hard lately. He put up all of the lights on our house. Not quite Chevy Chase, but close. Anyway, it looks good.

Also, he repainted our red wall. Put up the shower rod. And...best of all, he finished the fireplace mantel. It looks really nice. And I hung our stockings on Sunday night. Our house looks great at Christmas time. The tree is perfect this year (as long as it doesn't dry out). It hardly fits in our living room.

Today Country Living Home Furnishings finally dropped off the last of the furniture we ordered. I can't wait to get home and see it.

Sunday we stayed up late and watched movies. Can you believe Brian has nevre seen Edward Scissor Hands? He has now. And we popped in some old Christmas Classics (to us at least). Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation & The Muppets Christmas Carol. So good.

On Thursday I will start my Christmas shopping. Yikes! I haev so much to do. I don't have any idea what to get Brian. Something useful. And something fun.

I still have to shop for Carmelle, Kendra, Heather & Jules (which will now never get to her on time. Is there such things as a New Years Present). Plus my friends Georgette's birthday is on Christmas Day, so I need to find her something (she has everything!)

I am asking for a TV & Stereo for my Scrapbook room, The third season of Remmington Steele (guilty pleasure), and a couple other small things. But mostly I am looking forward to Palm Springs shopping and going to Disneyland. I can't wait! I think we're going to stay in the park. It should be fun. I love rides, and hopefully this time the rollercoasters will be open.

Ok, Nancys class will end soon. I am so tired. Year-end accounting really drains me (and I dont even do it myself!). Can't wait to hit my pillow.

Thanks Nanny

Today Brian & I got $1000.00 from Nanny (who passed away last month) to go and buy an island for our home. Isn't that cute?

I am so glad. This will help us out a lot. ( As you can tell, I mentioned this is what I would like in my last two entries.)

So we're wasting no time. Tonight after the store closes, we're off to Ikea to order our base cabinets. It's exciting to think that I might get this in time for Chirstmas. It will just make our house so much more cozy....

Show 'em you're a tiger...........

We've won the Best New Business of the Year award. Did I mention that in my last entry? Well, we have. I am so proud. ( I'm considering taking out a Billboard on the highway with a HUGE picture of myself and the words Scrapbook Queen!)

I am so greatful to whom ever nominated me. In a way I wish I could find out, but it's also fun just guessing. Anyway, they have some good karma coming their way.

The business is picking up. I am so happy. We've increased sales and class turnout from last year. Not by much, but every ounce of growth counts. It's funny becuase one month ago, I was going through the details of closing the store down (just incase) and this month, I am trying to install more long term plans.

I think December will make (or break) us. I'll try not to think about it too much (becuase I really can't control it anyway).

Today we are meeting with Brian's family. Kathy has a "suprise" for us. ( Something Nanny left us in her will, I believe). I think it'll be bittersweet.

Brian and I are having a "small" Chirstmas this year. Limited funds. And, no stuff allowed. I can't stress this enough. I will be really disapointed if we get "stuff", it's the last thing I need.

My wishlist is: A Wine Fridge, Scrapbook Room, A new mattress, OR Gift Cards to the following places; Ikea, Home Depot, Rona & Country Home Furnishings. I know this might be hard for Bri's parents, as they like to suprise us with the perfect gift, but I really NEED the things listed above.

I want to finish our island, backsplash and fireplace. Then main rooms would be complete. Whew!

I'm back da na na na na na na na na na na

Well, I'm back physically. But it's been a couple weeks (2, almost 3) and I think I might have left my brain in Vegas.
We had fun, but we worked hard. Really hard. And if one more person asks me how my "vacation" was, I will scream.
We ordered a lot of goodies. The store is starting to fill up. It's looking good.
The highlight of my trip was my Coach bag (of course). I got a matching wristlet this year as well. Hey! I worked hard, I deserved it! And I love it. We didn't shop nearly as much this time. But I did get a couple nice things ( I always have to stop into Victorias Secret, Bath & body Works, and of course, J. Crew).
We went to the wax museum this time. Creepy, but really cool. They look so real. Do you think I can convince anyone that Brian and I did play poker with Ben Affleck?
We also saw Mystere. So good. I loved it. It was funny, and just amazing. And I drank like crazy ( Brian and I got through a whole "bucket" of beer).
We stayed at the Mirage this time. It was right across the street from the Expo center. So easy. Only downer, no Starbucks. Oh well, a 10 minute walk to Treasure island fixed that.
The house is looking good. Mom and Dad helped Brian & I clean our basement one Sunday. It looks great. I no longer feel "heavy" when I walk downstairs.
The upstairs bathroom is done. Yay! Finally no more midnight dashes to the basement to go pee. And the bath...........ooooh, the bath. It's deep, and I love it. It's a great escape. I love it more (dare I say) than my scrapbook room. Although once it's fixed up, I know it'll be number one.
All I am asking for Christmas this year is Ikea/Country Home Furnishings/Home Depot gift cards (we NEED to finish our island) and a finished Scrapbook Room. And a wine fridge. But no STUFF. We don't need anymore STUFF. Really....... NO "STUFF".
What else?
I am headed to Dixie Chicks tomorrow night. And Nik's shower. Should be fun.
Maybe I will also do some scrapbooking tomorrow. ( Unlikely).....

So long, farewell........

Brian's grandma passed away on Wednesday. Sad

I didn't know her well like I know his other Granny. Partly because her health wasn't ever great, even when I met B almost 5 years ago. I do know she was a spunky lady. Even in her old age.

I am sad for Kathy. Who is so tuff, but I cant imagine what she's going thru. If I lost my mom, I would be helpless.

The memorial will be on Sunday morning.

The picture here is of her wedding day. They were married during the depression so there was no big party. I like this picture (even if she's wearing fur!).

I have a crop at the store tonight with 14 ladies. I think it coud go well. I hope they spend a little money. Things have picked up (yay!) but we are still struggling to meet ends a little. The classes however, are filling (or full) and that's a good sign of things to come.

Now I just hope an order comes, so I have something productive to do this evening. I am waiting for Daisy D's and also for Hero Arts. Christmas is coming, no mistaking. I can already feel it in the retail world. So I am ready. Bring it on.
